Nicki Minaj confusion over her return to American Idol next season has increased after a recent interview addressing Minaj's new album.

In another interview, Minaj tried to clear up some confusion fans have expressed over possible plastic surgery done to Minaj's face.

Nicki Minaj, the YMCMB rapper, tried to address the confusion in an interview with MTV, but created more questions about her possible return to American Idol.

Minaj is currently working on a new video from her last album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded - The Re-Up.

She said she plans to start recording a new album soon, and speculation led people to believe that means she would be leaving American Idol to produce her new album in the studio.

"[Producing the new album is] possible, but for now, I'm about to shoot another single off The Re-Up. The song is called 'High School' with Wayne. And then [I'll] start working on that follow-up album...I'll be doing it here in L.A. while I'm shooting Idol.

Nicki Minaj hinted that she would be heading back into the recording studio, and that it might get in the way of her return trip to the American Idol judges' table.

"I don't know, we'll see. See the thing is, we're only half way done so, I am absolutely enjoying Idol but I don't know how I'm going to feel at the end of it," she told E!

However, Minaj has successfully juggled multiple projects in the past.

She released her latest album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded - The Re-Up a few weeks before her American Idol debut.

She filmed a three-part reality series for E! in 2012, and has continually been creating music videos for her album.

During the interview, Nicki Minaj also cleared up some conclusion about rumors that she had gotten work done on her face, "I've never had surgery," she told Extra.

Instead, she credits her features as part of her love affair with makeup and her endorsement with Mac Cosmetics. According to Inquisitr, she said, "When people see my makeup they think all types of crazy things that I'm doing to my skin, but it's makeup," during an interview on Thursday Feb. 28.

Minaj is currently appearing on American Idol, aired on Fox network and affiliates.
