Kate Upton Says A Bikini 'Seems Like It Fits Better': The Sports Illustrated Cover Model Talks Swimsuit Preference [VIDEO]

Kate Upton says a bikini is her choice for a swimsuit to wear to the beach.

In an interview released Friday for The Thread, Kate Upton explained why she heads to the beach in a bikini.

"I think finding clothes is a challenge because of my body," Upton said, adding, "you just need to aware of that and find something that works on curvy women. I prefer string bikinis, just seems like it fits better. I think going a little bit smaller is better because it offers you more support."

We're guessing most male beach-goers are not upset about Kate Upton opting for a smaller bikini.

Upton also discussed the infamous Sports Illustrated cover shot-her second for the magazine.

Instead of the typical tropical settings, Kate's cover shot for the 2013 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue was shot in the bitter cold of Antarctica.

"When I went to Antarctica, it was a pretty crazy shoot because usually it's like bikini, warm weather," Upton said. "It was about fifteen to twenty degrees, and with the wind chill it made it feel like 1 degree. No other fashion magazine has ever been there or shot there so no one knew what to expect."

Upton reduced Jimmy Fallon to a babbling adolescent on Monday, when she appeared on his show "Late Night" in a sizzling red dress that practically gave the host a nervous breakdown.

Fallon's antics hit a fever pitch when he explained his ideas for having the next Kate Upton Sports Illustrated cover take place in outer space.

"Think about it---there's no gravity," Fallon said, before realizing the implications of what he was saying.

"That's incredible," Upton replied.

Fallon's face turned beet red as the host covered his face with a sheet of paper.

"No, no, no, I don't mean that. I meant I was thinking of you free falling," Fallon said, realizing he was only digging a bigger hole for himself. "My wife's going to kill me."
