Jail Break-In? Inmate Caught Sneaking Back Into Jail

Matthew Matagrano snuck back the New York City prison Rikers Island and had been staying there for a week before anyone noticed he wasn't supposed to be there.

The 36-year-old former Rikers Island inmate used a fake badge and dressed up like a guard in order to sneak back into the jail. It is unclear as to why Matagrano wanted to get back into the jail.

The Mirror UK reports that Matagrano was caught after he started moving prisoners around from one cell to another.  The Mirror also reports his convictions include sexual abuse and is on the New York State sex offenders registry.

Dressing in disguise and sneaking into places where he does not belong seems to be a habit for Matagrano. In the past he dressed as an official for the NYC Department of Education and tried to go into various schools.

It is still unclear what Matagrano will be charged with.
