Former New York Mets, Yanks Pitcher Dwight Gooden Makes ‘Terroristic Threats’ Against Wife, Banned From Seeing Children

The former New York Mets pitcher Dwight Gooden was ordered to leave his Bergen County, New Jersey home after he made "terroristic threats" against his wife.

"All bets are off and I will hurt you and your family. You'll see, just wait," Monique Gooden, wife of Dwight Gooden, told police he threatened.

The divorced couple was sharing the New Jersey home, but after making the threats against his wife Gooden was ordered by a judge to leave. Monique Gooden also got a temporary order of protection against her husband.

According to TMZ, Gooden is not allowed to visit his children. They also report that Gooden was not charged or taken into custody.

Dwight was arrested in 2005 for punching his wife Monique. Their next court date is scheduled for March 11.

Dwight Gooden is no stranger to the legal system. He was arrested in 1986 for getting into a fight with police in Tampa Florida. During Spring training in 1987, Gooden tested positive for cocaine and agreed to enter rehab.

Dwight Gooden was a pitcher with the New York Mets from 1985 to 1995. He was 19 years old when he came up to the Major League.  Gooden became a player to watch with his 98 MPH fastball.

From 1996 to 2000 Gooden played with four other teams including the New York Yankees. He retired in 2001 after the Yankees cut him.
