Lamborghini Veneo for $4M Debuts in Geneva, 'Sold Out: Only Three Unique Units Built'

The Lamborghini presented an exclusive model Veneo debuted Monday night at the Geneva Motor Show 2013.

The Veneo is the fastest, most powerful Lamborghini ever built was named after a Spanish bull that killed a matador in 1914 and name means "venom" in Spanish.

"It gives you a high degree of freedom in terms of the design, you can test materials and new technologies, it has a halo effect on the other products," said Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini CEO. "Last but not least, you're fulfilling dreams, at least for a few people."

Only three units were built and sold, one in each color of the Italian flag, green, white and red. It is priced at three million Euros plus tax - and all three units have already been sold to customers.

Veneo designed to be a racing prototype and still legal for the road features a 740 horsepower and top speed of 208 mph. The car with an adjustable wing, widened fender flares and a shark fin stabilizer to improve downforce in the turns looks as if it stepped out of a race track.

"It sounds like they're trying to use the cache of a racing vehicle but not go the whole way," said Paul Newton, an analyst with I.H.S. Automotive.

The two owners, both Americans were in Geneva to get their first look at the car, having signed the contract long ago.

Antoine Dominic, who is the principal in a Lamborghini dealership on Long Island, and Kris Singh II, a Floridian who is the managing director of investment firm Tequesta Investments, both plan to actually use the car.

"It's rolling artwork, it's like owning the Mona Lisa," said Singh. "I look forward to driving it."

Dominic said that can be hard since it turns so many heads. He plans to take it out at 5 a.m. on a Sunday when he finally gets it.
