Von Miller Guarantees Super Bowl For Denver Broncos; His Cousin's Recovery Was His Motivation To Say It

Defensive End for the Denver Broncos, Von Miller promised a Super Bowl victory for his team next season. It's the motivation of why he said it that is inspiring.

Von Miller's cousin was recently inspired because his cousin was recovering from a serious automobile accident. It inspired him enough to make one of the first bold statements of this NFL off-season.

"You can post this where ever.. Denver broncos will win the Super Bowl 2013 #4UJEREMIAH #IGUARANTEEIT58 if you are with us Retweet," he tweeted earlier Tuesday.

Prior to that tweet, Miller tweeted about his cousin Jeremiah awakening from a coma.

"This is why we win the Super Bowl 2013. My little cousin Jeremiah came out of a coma frm a car wreck In west Tx I [love] U," the tweet said.

On an interview with ESPN Radio's The Herd With Colin Cowherd, Miller claims it wasn't anything cocky, but rather inspiration from his cousin's recovery.

"I was motivated by my younger cousin...he got in a wreck about a week ago and he just came out of a coma a couple of days ago," he said. "His first couple of words was, they asked him a couple of questions and, of all the stuff to remember, he remembered that his cousin played for the Denver Broncos and his name was Von Miller."

As the number one seed in the AFC, the Broncos blew a fourth quarter lead in the AFC Divisional round, losing in overtime in their own stadium to the current Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens.

That's become motivation for Peyton Manning and the Denver team, but Von Miller's cousin has fueled him to what he considers to be a new level.

"It just moved me and I'm motivated and I'm going to work extremely hard. Not like I haven't done it before, but this year it's just a little bit extra for me and I'm extremely motivated," he told Cowherd.

With two seasons in the NFL, Miller has made it to two Pro Bowls, awarded the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year and a two -time all pro selection. He's become one of the more dominant pass-rushers and run-stoppers in the league, but looks to take the team to the promise land.

"I'm not speaking for anybody else, I'm speaking for me and the work I'm going to do and the work I'm putting in this year, but I bet I have some guys in the locker room that's willing to work with me and take the path I'm willing to take."
