Dunkin' Donuts Employee Serves Up Some 'Coffee Pot Justice' [VIDEO]

A Dunkin' Donuts employee stopped an attempted robbery on Saturday... with a pot of hot coffee!

When a drive-thru customer tried to rob a Dunkin' Donuts in West Haven, Connecticut on Saturday night, the employee on duty reacted quickly and stopped the perp with the nearest weapon she could find - coffee.

The attempted robbery happened at the Dunkin' Donuts at 967 First Ave. at 11:06 p.m. on Saturday, when a man drove up to window and asked the clerk to give him change for a $100 bill and the clerk denied the man's request.

The man then announced it was a robbery and tried to climb through the drive-thru window, West Haven police reported.

The Dunkin' Donuts employee, identified only as 'Angelica,' detailed the scene to reporters.

"He rushed himself, tried to get out of his car. That's when I realized he was serious," she said. "I tried to close the window. He put his arm in it. He knew not to touch, because he knew there would be fingerprints."

That is when Angelica said she threw hot coffee right in man's face.

"I did see his coffee that I made him, so I looked at (it) quick, threw him the first one. Looked at the pots of coffee and threw the pot of coffee at him. That's when he started running into his truck and then he left."

As the man sped off, Angelica shouted after him, "Go run on Dunkin," and a new catchphrase for the bakery chain was born.

In the end, the man fled the area empty handed after getting some of the Dunkin' employee's special brand of coffee pot justice.

West Haven Police are still looking for the suspect who, according to a news release, was driving a newer model white Ford Explorer.

Authorities also ask that anyone with information about the incident call West Haven Police at (203) 937-3905.
