Ironman 3 Will Feature Arch-Villain 'The Mandarin' Played By Sir Ben Kingsley; 3rd Trailer Officially Released [VIDEO]

Disney released the third trailer for Ironman 3. Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as billionaire playboy philanthropist Tony Stark, a.k.a Ironman.

Joining the cast will be Sir Ben Kingsley as Ironman's villain 'The Mandarin', who can be seen in the new trailer. Fans have been after the creators of Ironman to put The Mandarin in the films since the first move was pitched.

Ironman producer Kevin Feige told Movie Talk on Yahoo that The Mandarin was originally part of the first Ironman script. When he and then director Jon Favreau appeared at Comic Con, they told fans they could expect to see their favorite Ironman enemy.

"We thought, 'what can we tell 'em? That's probably safe!' And then we changed it about 12 weeks before we start filming," Feige said.

The character of The Mandarin is described as having a strong sense of honor, but that doesn't stop him from trying to take over the world once or twice. Like Toney Stark, The Mandarin is a technology wiz and has tried in some of the comic books to turn the weapons of various nations against each other, only to be thwarted by Ironman.

The casting of Sir Ben Kingsley had created a division among fans, some agree that he is a good choice. Others say since The Mandarin was born in China, the creators should have casted a Chinese actor.

Username Blake posted on Yahoo "Why can't they keep characters as they are in the books? The Mandarin is CHINESE. He should be Chinese."

Pennsykins replyed "Yeah, another good, I hope, Ironman. Big fan and don't care about the casting."

Ironman 3 takes place after the events of 'The Avengers' and will hit theaters May 3.
