It's official: Honey Boo Boo is now a proud member of the Girl Scouts.

"Official Girl Scout!" Honey Boo Boo, whose real name is Alana Thompson, wrote on her Facebook page on Tuesday. "She's so excited to be in the troop :)"

The 7-year-old reality show star of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," also posed for a Facebook photo in her Girl Scouts shirt, which has her official troop number.

Honey Boo Boo joins the Girl Scouts in the wake of last week's scandal when the organization banned her from selling its iconic cookies on her Facebook page, because it violated a strict door-to-door policy.

"[Honey Boo Boo] doesn't have the personal experience of asking someone to purchase her product," reads an official statement from the Girl Scouts to Extra TV. "She doesn't have to learn the responsibility of handling the money and personally delivering the order."

"When you have canvassed your neighborhood and manned cookie booths for hours, you learn the value of a hard day's work," The statement continued. "There is also a strong feeling of accomplishment when you are personally engaged in the activity."

Extra pointed out that although Honey Boo Boo was allegedly selling the Girl Scouts cookies for a friend, she was not a member.

"She's not a Girl Scout, but Honey Boo Boo sure is good at selling cookies," reads the Extra article.

Facebook user Richard Johannesen hopes that now that Honey Boo Boo joins Girl Scouts, everyone to forget about the whole cookie fiasco.

"Well that should shut everyone up...Ms. Boo Boo!" Johannesen commented under Honey Boo Boo's Facebook post.

Wanda Cosgrove also stuck up for Honey Boo Boo on the child star's Facebook page on Tuesday.

"Why is everyone complaining that Honey Alana Boo Boo is helping in the selling of the GS cookies?" Cosgrove asked. "She's not getting the money for herself or the family. They are helping out other [Girl Scouts] and they are giving a signed photo to everyone that's been buying them. Again like I said before people are jealous that a small town girl and her family made it in the TV world. Keep up the good work June , Alana , and the rest of the family can't wait for the new season:-). I hope Sugar Bear is doing better."

According to Forbes Magazine, Honey Boo Boo joins Taylor Swift, Gwyneth Paltrow and Dakota Fanning on the list of famous Girl Scouts.
