Kate Winslet speaks about her split from "Skyfall" director Sam Mendes in February 2009 then surprised everyone as she secretly wed third husband Ned Rocknroll in December 2012.

Winslet has two children, eight-year-old Joe from previous relationship with Mendes, and 12-year-old daughter Mia, with first husband Jim Threapleton who she split in 2001.

The actress in the April issue of Harper's Bazaar UK revealed the details about the divorce.

"I've really learnt a great deal about myself, in the last four years in particular. I think I can see more clearly now - about how the pattern of past experiences has shaped who I am and the characters I have played, and I'm grateful for that," Winslet revealed.

"I have so much more material to draw on for work - rubble, bricks - and I know I can carry it now."

Winslet met Rocknroll during holiday on Necker Island, Sir Richard Branson's private Caribbean island at which point both survived a devastating fire, although she was on the island with her on-off boyfriend model Louis Dowler.
