A 37-pounds cat "Biscuit" weighs about the same as a 4-year-old human.

The St. Louis area animal shelter that was seeking a home for the tabby seems to have found a new home.

St. Charles County shelter operators shared the recent coverage of the tubby cat quest to find a new home has led them to receive more than 100 adoption requests.

Biscuit was brought to the shelter about a year ago, as the first owner fed him lot of treats and the disabled woman no longer could care for him.

"She didn't mean the cat any harm," Teresa Gilley, the shelter's lead animal control officer said. "I just think she didn't know any better."

A woman took him however had to return him back as her new apartment doesn't allow pets.

"He's sweet and loving, and if you talk to him, he'll talk back," Gilley said.

Biscuit is set to move in with Ed and Lisa Pyatt next week according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The couple several years ago had adopted another fat cat, Max. Ed Pyatt said that it'll be good for Max to have a buddy.

Biscuit is currently on a low calorie diet, he was not keen on the cuisine first however after adjusting he is already showing increased energy. Gilley said, the new owner will need to keep him on the strict diet.
