Michael Jordan Marriage Is A Slam Dunk!

Michael Jordan marriage plans are finally coming together.

The basketball star filed for a marriage license with model fiancee, Yvette Prieto in West Palm Beach, Florida Thursday morning reported Kathy Burstein, a spokeswoman from the Palm Beach County courthouse.

Michael Jordan and the Cuban-American model have been together a long time, more than 5 years. The Florida marriage license application comes 14 months after the couple got engaged in December 2011.

In the state of Florida couples planning to wed must file in person. The license is also only valid for 60 days which, of course, means Michael Jordan's marriage is happening sooner rather than later.

The hoops legend has not released any information on when or where the actual wedding will take place.

This will be the first marriage for Prieto and the second for Jordan.

Michael Jordan was married in September 1989 to Juanita Vanoy, but the couple split in 2006. They have three children together, two sons, Jeffrey Michael and Marcus James, and a daughter, Jasmine.

Recently Jordan has been named in a paternity suit filed by Pamela Smith.

Smith claims that Michael Jordan fathered her 16-year-old son while he was married to Vanoy. She reportedly filed the suit at the request of her son who wanted proof that the basketball legend is hi biological father.

Michael Jordan, however, has denied the allegation. And it is clear from Thursday morning's marriage license, he is not going to let a little legal hiccup disrupt is marriage plans with Prieto.

Michael Jordan is regarded by many as the world's greatest basketball player. He retired from playing in 2003 after nearly two decades in the spotlight. During that time he won six championship titles and five MVP awards. He is currently the owner and chairman of the Charlotte Bobcats.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
