Powerball Jackpot Hits $150 Million After No Winners On Wednesday; Next Drawing Scheduled For Saturday Night

The winner of the Saturday, March 9 Powerball Jackpot lottery drawing will collect close to $150 million.

However, the likelihood of there being a winner for the Powerball Jackpot is slim. The Powerball jackpot hasn't been collected since February 6, when one player from Virginia won $217 million.

Since that February win, the Powerball jackpot has rolled over eight times, because there was no winner for the subsequent drawings.

The jackpot rolled over again on the night of Wednesday, March 6 when nobody matched all six Powerball numbers.

The winning numbers on Wednesday night were: 6, 10, 23, 41 and 45, with the Power Ball of 1.

Although nobody claimed the Powerball Jackpot on Wednesday, there were some $1 million winning tickets sold in Illinois, Arizona, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

There was also a 'Match 5' winning ticket in North Carolina, whose worth is about about $2 million, still unclaimed.

Lottery officials have said that if someone wins the Powerball Jackpot this weekend, they will earn about $95.2 million in cash. Another option for winners to earn the entire prize is to collect the $150 million over 29 years in 30 graduated payments.

The Powerball Jackpots have been generating large sums recently, since last year ticket prices were raised to $2.

The biggest Jackpot in Powerball history occurred in 2012, in which three winners split $640 million.
