Star Wars VII Cast Announced! George Lucas Reveals To Bloomberg Business Week Who Will Be In The New Star Wars Film, Did He Steal Disney's Thunder?

Stars Wars producer George Lucas revealed to Bloomberg Business Week which original stars will be joining the cast of Star Wars VII on Thursday.

"We had already signed Mark (Hamill), Carrie (Fisher) and Harrison (Ford) -- or we were pretty much in the final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, 'Look, this is what's going on,'" Lucas said in the interview before realizing that he might be spoiling a big Disney announcement.

Rumors always swirl for movies that have so much anticipation. Lucas, the creator of the Star Wars films let the cat out of the bag any way by putting some rumors to rest.

"Maybe I'm not supposed to say that," he added. "I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them."

Hans Solo was played by Ford. Fisher played the role of Princess Leia. Luke Skywalker was played by Hamill.

Ford starred in plenty of movies since his role as Hans Solo. He was the leading role in the Indiana Jones series, Air Force One, the Patriot Games and more.

Fisher appeared in films and television shows, but was most recently seen on the Comedy Central Roast of Rosanne Barr. Hamill hasn't appeared in nearly as many films as Fisher or Ford, but Lucas said the original Luke Skywalker will be in for Star Wars VII.

USA Today said that it was already reported that J.J. Abrams will direct the film. Abrams directed the 2009 version of Star Trek and its sequel, as well as Mission Impossible III. He's also produced and written movies over the past 25 years.

All the Star Wars movies combine, generated over $4 billion dollars worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.

The film has spawned cartoon shows, toys and mountains of merchandise.
