'Little Psy' Hwang Min Woo's Solo Debut Gains International Attention [VIDEO]

Seven-year-old Hwang Min Woo best known for his appearance in the video of Psy's international hit "Gangnam Style" is now gaining international attention by the foreign media.

The Washington Post, Huffington Post and Billboard are covering the news of Min Woo's debut as a singer stating, "Little Psy Goes Solo After 'Gangnam Style' Cameo."

Hwang Min Woo shared in an interview with Reuters that he aspires to become a "global star" more famous than Psy himself.

The singer visited Singapore in February to promote the LG Optimus G smartphone. During that time he shared in an interview with reporters, "I have a new single coming up called 'Show+Time.' It is a song that I really enjoy singing and dancing to. It's my song. It's my song. Not Psy's song."

The young boy, who is in second grade, has a Korean father and mother who came from Vietnam. He was selected as one of the 10 recipients of South Korea's 1st "Multicultural Youth Awards" launched by Korea Times in recognition of people that have contributed to Korea's cultural diversity.

March 6, Hwang Min Woo introduced his debut album Show+Time at the Heritz Convention in Gangnam seen in a bright blue suit and sleek haircut, performed at a news conference in Korea.

"I will do my best to join the U.S. Billboard chart's top 10 with this album," he added.

Starzon Entertainment management said the album caught the attention of promoters in Japan, China, Vietnam and Singapore, where K-Pop is already well known.
