Hulk rumors have continued to circulate the internet, but Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo has stepped forward to "hulk smash" the latest speculations.

Rumors about "Planet Hulk" were running through posts, tweets, and threads online recently, but Ruffalo revealed what is actually in store for his Marvel character.

Taking to the social media site Twitter to explain to (and disappoint) Hulk fans by saying that they will not be seeing the character again until "Avengers 2."

You heard it right. Hulk rumors of a new solo film, "Hulk Planet", are false.

Ruffalo tweeted, "A lot of folks have been asking about the Next Hulk. The next time you see my Hulk it will be in the Avengers2. No plans for stand alone."

He also added, "I am not giving up on another stand alone HULK. But it's not in the works right now. One never knows what the future will bring."

Some fans have interpreted this to mean that Hulk will not be appearing again in any movie until "Avengers 2," but others have suggested that perhaps Hulk will be seen in some cameo roles.

Ruffalo has not yet addressed these Hulk rumors.

What is for certain however, is that it seems there will not be a stand alone Hulk movie until well after the Avengers 2. That means we are looking at 2016 at the very earliest.

That date falls in line with what many analysts had previously predicted.

Recently "Avengers" writer Joss Whedon also addressed some Hulk rumors.

At the Glasgow Film Festival he said, "Hulk is a tricky son of a *****. He's the Claudio of superheroes. Because the problem is it's a very popular character, but it's not a superhero. Half of it's a superhero, half of it's a werewolf. And you can't structure it like a superhero movie, you can't light it like a superhero movie. How do you develop that?"

He then added, "It would be extremely difficult. The one thing you would have in your favor would be Mark Ruffalo. But right now I don't know if they have plans to do that or not, because he works so well as part of a greater whole, but by himself, it's tough. I don't envy the guys who went before."

With the news from Ruffalo smashing the recent set of Hulk rumors, fans are left wondering what is to become of their beloved Hulk.
