Jennifer Lawrence was bullied in middle and high school, making the Oscar-winning actress even more relatable to her fans.

The 22-year-old Jennifer Lawrence told The Sun that she was bullied throughout her childhood. Lawrence surmounted the obstacles and self-esteem issues that often result from bullying, saying that the experience built her character and made her the person she is today.

Jennifer Lawrence said, "I changed schools a lot when I was in elementary school because some girls were mean."

"They were less mean in middle school, because I was doing all right, although this one girl gave me invitations to hand out to her birthday party that I wasn't invited to," she told The Sun.

But it appears that Lawrence, a Louisville, Kentucky native, didn't let the bully best her.

She added, "I just hocked a loogie on [the invitations] and threw them in the trash can. Don't worry about the b-----s. That could be a good motto, because you come across people like that throughout your life."

Lawrence also talked to The Sun about becoming a sex symbol after her grown-up roles in Silver Linings Playbook and The Hunger Games.

"I don't think of myself as sexy and, obviously, it's not true. I'm going to try to push that out of my mind because it makes me queasy," she commented.

Lawrence tried to deny her 'sex-symbol' status by talking about her favorite food and her post-Oscars 'diet'.

"The other day I had pizza for breakfast, Buffalo wings for lunch and pizza for dinner. Probably my favorite food is a potato--just a potato, because I like fried, boiled potatoes, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes..." she mused to The Sun.

Lawrence recently won an Oscar for Best Leading Actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook.

Jennifer Lawrence's next projects to appear in theaters will be Serena, scheduled to release on Sept. 27, and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire to be released on Nov. 22.
