Denver ‘Thong Bandit’ Remains Active: Police Teams Search For Flasher; Officer Says Police Must ‘Stop Him Before He Goes Any Further’

The Denver thong bandit is still on the loose in northwest Denver neighborhoods around Sloan's Lake.

District 1 Police Commander Paul Pazen said, "We're looking for an individual we have titled the 'Thong Bandit.'"

Police called the man 'thong bandit' although he isn't accused of stealing anything. Instead, the man flashes women while wearing a thong.

Pazen said that the man known as the 'thong bandit' was first seen at the end of summer but has been quiet for several months.

However, the 'thong bandit' appears to be active again, as four reports have surfaced in Denver in the last two weeks.

"He is fully clothed somewhere in them mouth of an alley, will disrobe down to a thong and expose himself further in front of female citizens in northwest Denver," Pazen announced.

The Denver Police have assembled teams to search and find this man.

"It's a crime to expose yourself to folks. We need to make sure he doesn't take that next step," Pazen stated.

The perpetrator has been described by eyewitnesses as a white or Hispanic male in his 20-30's, about 5'7''.

In initial reports, witnesses claimed the suspect wore a pink thong, Huffington Post reported.

It has been difficult for the police to acquire reliable information from witnesses about the appearance of the 'thong bandit'.

"It's really difficult for people to process what they see in something like this [case]," Pazen explained to KUSA-TV.

He continued, "This is not something that is typical behavior, and it was difficult for us to get somebody that detailed enough information of this person's face in order to help us with the sketch."

Anyone with information on the Denver 'thong bandit' has been asked to call CrimeStoppers at (720) 913-STOP to report him.
