$1M of Pot On Beach Near Air Force Base in California, 'Large Stash of Illegal Narcotics Near an Overturned Boat North of Wall Beach' [VIDEO]

The $1 million worth of pot was found on a beach near Vandenberg Air Force Base Thursday.

Although the exact amount of marijuana is not reported however officials estimate around $1 million. The drugs were found in an overturned 20-foot aluminum boat along the California coastline. Officials said the marijuana was discovered "near an overturned boat north of Wall Beach."

There are speculations that the large amount of drugs was part of an illegal transaction, typically drug traffickers use waterways to transport contraband.

"Earlier this afternoon, our defenders discovered what appeared to be a large stash of illegal narcotics on our beach here at Vandenberg Air Force Base," Col. Nina Armagno, 30th Space Wing commander, told the Santa Maria Times.

Based on the video released by the base, Armagno estimates the bales "are about six foot tall."

Armagno said, "We immediately secured the scene and started searching the beaches and the local area."

After the search there were no weapons or suspects found on or near the base.

"We have determined that there is no threat to the base and the local community," she continued. "What it looks like to me are large bags, kind of like dark-colored trash bags, wrapped up and stacked, and actually they have been covered in what looks like an attempt to camouflage them with brush," Armagno added.

Homeland Security authorities took over the investigation to locale any potential suspects.
