Hailstorm In Hollywood: Stars Take To Twitter To Gripe About The Strange Icy Substance Falling From The Sky [VIDEO]

A hailstorm in Hollywood took Tinseltown by surprise on Friday as parts of the Valley and West Hollywood were affected by the extremely rare weather condition for the area.

Hollywood celebrities took to Twitter to remark on the odd occurrence.

"Went from sunny day to straight hailing on Laurel Canyon. Climate change or the end of days?" Rashida Jones, the star of NBC's "Parks And Recreation" tweeted. "Either way, let's pretend nothing's weirdYAYYY!"

"Hail is falling in Toluca Lake," tweeted Conan O'Brien co-host Andy Richter "Yay!"

"Rock of Ages" and "Hairspray" director Adam Shankman was incredulous.

"Wait its SERIOUSLY haling now in LA! WTF," Shankman wrote. "My yard is covered in ice. WTF!!!"

"HOLY HAIL," wrote Constance Zimmer, from the Netflix sensation "House of Cards."

By Friday evening, the hailstorm in Hollywood had given way to temperatures in the 50s.

Rich Thompson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard, Calif. told the Los Angeles Times that the winter weather pattern that brought the hailstorm in Hollywood moved out of the area by Friday morning.

He says it is only a taste of the warm-up in Los Angeles that is expected to happen over the weekend.

"If we survive through this evening, we should be good," Thompson said. "Back to summer-like weather."

Sunday's forecast calls for the temperature in Hollywood to surpass 70 degrees. By Wednesday, the temperature is expected to reach 80.
