Lisa Ling Welcomes Baby Girl, Jett Ling Song

Acclaimed journalist Lisa Ling gave birth to a little girl on March 8, 2013. Jett Ling Song was born in a Santa Monica hospital at 1:24 pm.

This is the first child for Ling and her husband Paul Song. The couple suffered a miscarriage in 2010.

"Love the day after the rain in L.A and the new life it brings," Ling posted yesterday on Twitter.

Ling released a statement to US Weekly saying,  "We feel so blessed that this day has arrived, We're nervously excited to begin this next chapter in our lives with our little Jett."

The 39-year-old new mom is bringing her baby home to an eco-friendly, green nursery. "We're doing a partial green nursery and trying as hard as we can to do as much organic stuff for our nursery as we can," she told US Weekly.

Despite going-green for her baby, Ling doesn't know if she can commit to using cloth diapers. In her US Weekly interview she said,

"I don't know that I'm going to entirely do cloth diapers, I'd like to be ambitious about it, but in all honesty I can't say that I will."

Lisa Ling is a journalist and currently hosts "Our America," a show on the Oprah Winfrey network. She began her career at 21-years-old covering the Civil War in Afghanistan. She has covered global news in a variety of countries like Russia, Iraq, Vietnam, China, Cambodia and Albania.

In 1999 she joined Barbra Walters and the ladies at the table on "The View," Ling left in 2002.
