Grumpy Cat made an appearance at the South By Southwest Interactive conference in Austin by the website Mashable. As anyone who spends time on the internet will know the cat famous for her signature facial expression.

The weeklong conference generally gathers bands, music writers, start-up bros, tech geeks, movies makers and critics. The Grumpy Cat, whose real name is Tardar Sauce became an internet hit as her owners, Bryan and Tabatha Bundesen decided to post the photo of the always-mad cat on Reddit.

"She was lying in my lap and she looked extremely grumpy so I decided to put it on Reddit," Bryan told ABC News at the festival. "It went viral and I never expected it."

The cat's internet fame now turned to real-life as she signs a deal with Friskies, she will be appearing in Friskies commercial soon. The company along with the cat and Mashable held a press event at SXSW to have her on display for the following few days for several hours at a time.

"A lot of people think we are exploiting the cat, we limit her exposure greatly," Bryan said. "She is only here for an hour at a time. Ninety-nine percent of the time she is just a regular cat. She is not front of the camera at all times, she is a normal house cat and we love her."
