Raja Bell Released By Utah Jazz Eliminating Him From Postseason Play

Raja Bell the Utah Jazz shooting guard was released on Sunday after the team agreed to pay his entire salary for the rest of the season, waiving him from the roster.

Although Bell could technically sign with another NBA team however since missing the deadline for playoff eligibility on March 1, he won't play in the postseason this year.

Any team that picks Bell up can use him until the regular season ends but won't be able to add him to their postseason rosters.

The 36-year-old guard clashed with head coach Tyrone Corbin calling him "unprofessional" and stated he wouldn't play for the Jazz again. He followed through by skipping out on training camp and not joining the team this year. They didn't use him since the last game of the 2011-12 regular season.

Bell can sign with another team once he clears waivers and Jazz had reportedly been trying to trade or buy out his contract however both sides couldn't reach an agreement on the parameters of a buyout, which lead the Jazz to release Bell and pay him the $3.4 million owed this year.

The Los Angeles Lakers were one of the teams that was interesting in Bell, however it remains to be seen whether they will take him under these circumstances of having no postseason play.
