Lindsay Lohan Refuses House Arrest, 'Mean Girls' Actress Faces Possible Jail Time

Lindsay Lohan refused house arrest and faces possible time in prison after being charged for reckless driving in June, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.

TMZ reports prosecutors offered Lohan 90 days house arrest for reckless driving, lying to the police, and violating her probation. The Santa Monica City Attorney and the Los Angeles City Attorney initially offered a six-month-rehab lockdown, which she also refused.

The Liz and Dick star claims she is innocent of the accident in June where her Porsche collided with a dump truck in Santa Monica, California.

"Lindsay was involved in an automobile accident on her way to the set," her rep told Wonderwall.msn.com. "She was brought to Santa Monica UCLA hospital as a precaution."

When the police arrived, Lohan claimed she was the passenger, not the driver of her vehicle.

Lindsay's lawyer, Mark Heller, is telling prosecutors Lindsay will accept some house arrest but for less than 90 days. Yet Lohan is adamant she did no wrong and won't accept any punishment.

TMZ added that there's a 75% chance that her penalty could increase to 19 months in jail plus 245 days for violating probation.

This is not the first time Lindsay Lohan has faced house arrest.

In May 2011, Lohan received a house arrest sentence for stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Los Angeles jewelry store People magazine notes, after she was released from jail due to prison overcrowding, and thanks to Lindsay's good behavior.

Lohan's court date is scheduled for March 18 though her attorney insisted on having an April hearing.
