Ellen DeGeneres Show Renewed For Next Three Years, Is The “Crown Jewel Of NBC Television’s Daytime Lineup”

The Ellen DeGeneres Show has been renewed for the next three years, through the 2016-2017 season, in 96 percent of the country.

The hilarious, now renewed, Ellen DeGeneres will appear on all ten NBC owned and operated stations, and 179 additional stations, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ellen DeGeneres is now tied with Dr. Phil for the number 1 syndicated talk show among the women 25-54 age demographic.

Ellen is number 1 in the time period with the same demographic in seven of NBC's key regional markets, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Ellen DeGeneres' success is notable because it's been a hard year for daytime talk shows.

New talk shows hosted by Ricki Lake and Jeff Probst have been canceled, and Anderson Cooper's Anderson Live won't make it past its second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In addition, The View, a long-lasting talk show, is getting a major overhaul because of the departure of host Joy Behar.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show announcement was made on the morning of Monday, March 11 by Ken Werner, president of Warner Brothers Domestic Television Distribution and Valari Staab, president of NBC Owned Television Stations.

In a statement, Werner said, "Ellen is quite simply the best. Day in and day out she and her team produce a unique and compelling hour of entertainment, which is appointment television for legions of women. We are absolutely thrilled that NBC, Ellen, Warner Bros. and all of our station partners will be continuing our successful relationship for years to come."

"Ellen is the crown jewel of the NBC Owned Television Stations daytime lineup. We are proud and thrilled to extend our relationship with Ellen DeGeneres, all the great people working on her show and our friends at Warner Bros.," Saab concluded.

Throughout its 10 seasons, the Ellen DeGeneres Show has won 38 Daytime Emmy Awards.
