'Castle' Season 8 Spoilers: First Two Episodes Set Series' Tone; Stana Katic Puts Trust In New Showrunners

As the airing date for "Castle" season 8 looms, spoilers are getting to be more frequent and this time it came from Stana Katic herself.

In an interview with Deadline, Stana Katic said that fans of the show should pay particular attention to the first two episodes of the eight season.

She said the first two episodes will "set everything up for the next 20 episodes," and will help accelerate the conflict in "Castle" season 8.

On signing an extension to become part of "Castle" season 8, she said that it was all about trusting the showrunners to come up with good material while protecting her character.

The actress explained, "I started to feel the character would be safe in the next chapter of Castle. I felt confident that they knew the story, the character - Terence has been on the show since Day 1, and some of the most interesting episodes for my character were penned by Alexi - and while they are eager to shake things up and aim at telling challenging stories, they would also protect the integrity of the character."

Stana Katic teased more spoilers for "Castle" season 8 as she said, "Part of the exciting thing about this season is the way Alexi and Terence have envisioned the cosmic version of why the two characters (Castle and Beckett) have come together, how did these roads combine."

"It delves into the mythology of Rick's disappearance and memory loss as well as into what inspired Beckett to become a cop in the first place."

But she did credit Andrew Marlowe, who left the show after the season 7 finale. She said, "He was part of making this character (Kate Beckett) what she's become, and he has been part of this dialogue about how to create a strong female heroine."

Watch out for more "Castle" season 8 spoilers which will be published here when they become available.
