New Batman Series Starts From The Beginning: The Comic From DC Universe Shows His Rise From Orphan To Millionaire Superhero

In the new Batman series of the DC Universe revival of its comics, Bruce Wayne's road to Batman will be detailed, the Associate Press reported Monday.

In 2011, DC Universe launched a new series known as the New 52. The New 52 symbolized the cancellation of any DC series in the past and the launch of 52 new comics, thus the name.

All these comics would start from the beginning and Batman is no different.

"The Zero Year" will be an 11-issue storyline in which we see Wayne build the Batcave, become Batman and face his first super villain, the AP reported Monday. The villain hasn't been officially announced, however Scott Snyder, a writer for the Batman comic revealed to Comic Book Resources at the 2012 Comic Con International that "The stories that we have planned firmly are really 'Death of the Family' and the big story after it, which is sort of a really different kind of story that Greg [Capullo] is gonna do with me, and in that one, you'll see a lot more about Riddler - and a couple of the other Rogues as well."

Snyder refers to the death of Bruce Wayne's parents, which will remain the same as it has plenty of times in past comics, TV shows and movies. In 2012, the "Death of the Family" issue, Bruce Wayne's parents are still murdered, but in the new mythology, the Cape Crusader's road to the Dark Knight will be detailed throughout the comic series, the AP reported Monday.

The AP also reported in February that  "Batman/Superman" will be written by Greg Pak and illustrated by Jae Lee. It will focus on how the two icons first met.

Pak told the AP that he and Lee have been given "some real leeway to do some really important storytelling" in the series.
