Alexis will grow up quickly which might shock some people, according to "Castle" season 8 spoilers. Meanwhile, Ann Cusack has joined the cast which would complicate matters for Beckett and Rick.

According to TVLine, "Private Practice" actress Ann Cusack will show up in the premiere episode.

The report said, "The actress will appear in the second half of the two-part season opener as Rita, a member of a top-secret organization who drops into Beckett's life with a unique set of skills... and an unexpected connection to Castle."

Showrunner Alexi Hawley gave away spoilers to Entertainment Weekly saying that big changes are coming to "Castle" season 8. Whether that means Beckett will run for the senate, or she will break up with Rick is up in the air.

Alexi Hawley teased spoilers for the show as he said, "We just want to get in there and try to tell some really dynamic stories. Going into season 8, it feels like it's time to shake things up a little bit."

Meanwhile, Michael Ausiello dished spoilers in a piece for TVLine where he wrote, "Molly Quinn's newly shorn mane is one step in a much larger, more adult makeover for Alexis in Season 8. (Read: Someone may start having a little sex in the city.)"

Ausiello previously wrote that the breakup would be one of the most polarizing events of the 2015-2016 season.

"I've learned that a hit series will throw caution to the wind and put a (possibly permanent!) pin in one of TV's most popular love stories - a game-changing move that threatens to seismically alter the DNA of the series," he wrote.

"It will also piss off a lot of people, a backlash The Powers That Be are said to be fully prepared for and not necessarily all that fearful of; the aging series could benefit from having its core rocked, many believe," the writer added.
