Michael Weatherly Divides 'NCIS' Season 13 Time With New Endeavor? Actor Produces For CW

"NCIS" season 13 cast Michael Weatherly will have to divide his time playing an investigator and being a showrunner for CW's take on the classic, "Little Women."

Deadline reported, "Little Women is described as a hyper-stylized, gritty adaptation of the 1868 novel by Louisa May Alcott, in which disparate half-sisters Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy band together in order to survive the dystopic streets of Philadelphia and unravel a conspiracy that stretches far beyond anything they have ever imagined - all while trying not to kill each other in the process."

Alexis Jolly will pen the script for "Little Women" who will also co-executive produce the show along with "NCIS" season 13 actor Michael Weatherly.

Cartermatt said the production is still at its very early stages.

It said, "At the moment, there is no guarantee that this show will amount to anything just yet, but we're all about getting to see new twists on classic literature on TV. Why wouldn't we want something like that on the schedule?"

"One other thing to consider here that could help this show make it on the air is that it comes from CBS TV Studios. The CW likes to create a steady balance between these shows and ones from Warner Bros. TV, and the majority of their hits right now (save for maybe 'Jane the Virgin') are coming from the latter studio."

As to Michael Weatherly's role in "NCIS" season 13, DiNozzo is going to be in a bit of a bind with Agent Gibbs' life in danger after he was shot two times in the season 12 finale.

Showrunner Gary Glasberg told The Hollywood Reporter that there are a lot of questions that need answered when the show returns, including an "impending danger."

Glasberg also said the shooting will galvanize the rest of the team in "NCIS" season 13, particularly Michael Weatherly's DiNozzo.

"Regardless of the outcome, any time that Gibbs or one of our family members is in danger or injured, it significantly affects everyone," he said. "We'll have to see the long-term effects and the psychological effects, but they'll undoubtedly, as they always are, be there for each other."

"Then we'll see where it takes [us] as we move forward to the coming episode," he explained.
