There will be no Kobe Bryant divorce from wife Vanessa Bryant, which is good news for Kobe.

Kobe Bryant, star of the Los Angeles Lakers, will benefit from the lack of divorce, since his wife may have to nurse the NBA superstar back to health after Kobe injured himself last night, on March 13.

Kobe Bryant severely sprained his ankle after a 'dangerous play' by Dahntay Jones. Kobe will be out indefinitely. After the injury, Kobe rolled around on the court in pain as his teammates looked on.

USA Today revealed that Kobe's ankle is not broken, but that he suffered a "severe left ankle sprain" when Kobe rose up for a jumper from the right baseline with three seconds left.

Had Kobe made the shot, the Lakers would have tied the game and had a chance at a comeback.

Unfortunately, Kobe missed the shot and came down on the foot of Dahntay Jones, falling to the floor. 

The LA Lakers lost the game to the Atlanta Hawks 96-92.

After the game, Kobe told reporters that Jones, "Jalen Rose'd me", a reference to a similar play in which Kobe sprained his ankle during the 2000 NBA finals.

Kobe Bryant told reporters that it was his worst sprain since the 2000 season.

Kobe vented on Twitter, writing, "#dangerousplay that should have been called. Period."

Dahntay responded to being called out, tweeting, "Tape doesn't lie. Ankle was turned on the floor after the leg kick out that knocked him off balance. I would never try to hurt the man."

Dirty or not, the play may cost the Lakers the playoffs. Although the Lakers won't play Atlanta again until next season, Kobe can't wait to get back at the team that caused the injury.

He said, "I can't get my mind past the fact that I've got to wait a year for revenge."

Kobe Bryant's wife, Vanessa, posted an X-ray image of Kobe's injury on Instagram after last night's game. 

Rumors of the Kobe Bryant divorce started when Vanessa became fed up with reports of Kobe's extramarital affairs.

Kobe was never caught with anyone, but his wife was reportedly certain that her husband was cheating.

However, "since calling off their scheduled divorce proceedings in January, the two have been inseparable in the public eye. On Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, the couple...have done everything from posting status updates of sharing coffee to celebrating their children's birthdays and defending their marriage to snarky twitter followers," according to reports. 

It's a good thing that all is well with Kobe's marriage now; hopefully it will lead to his speedy recovery and return to the courts.
