Reality star Kim Richards was hospitalized but was already released following her arrest for shoplifting in Target recently.

"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star's family has not yet confirmed the reason why Kim Richards was hospitalized after the shoplifting incident.

According to reports, Kim Richards was arrested after shoplifting over 100 items worth $600 of merchandise from Van Nuys, California, Target, US Weekly reported.

The reality star spent one night in jail and was released after bailing $5,000.

"Stealing is just so out of character for her under normal circumstances," an insider shared with E! News.

In the past month, Kim Richard has been vocal about her issues on sobriety.

"I love sobriety. I've always loved sobriety, and relapsing was very hard for me. It was not easy. I have to say, don't take this wrong, but I really wanted to go to treatment because I needed a break from what I was going through at home," she said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight last July.

The "Sharknado 3" star added, "Monty, my ex-husband, is very sick and my son wasn't well. And I had to give away my dog, and I wasn't talking to my sister [Kyle Richards]."

A source said that Kim Richards should have stayed in the rehab a little longer to overcome her struggles.

"They weren't happy she chose to leave early," another source said.

Meanwhile, the reality star remained mum on her social media account regarding the shoplifting incident.

But her husband Monty Brinson already aired his support for the reality star.

He said Kim Richard's shoplifting case is guaranteed to have been a mistake and he hopes that all the facts will surface. He added that alcohol and drugs are not related to the case.

"I couldn't imagine Kim stealing or shoplifting anything. She is a giver," he said.
