Nina Dobrev and boyfriend Austin Stowell have not been shy about showing a lot of PDAs in their photos together, now Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed also took to social media to post a photo of their own vacation. Has this become a game of one-upmanship for "The Vampire Diaries" exes?

About a week ago, "The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder shared on Instagram a photo of himself and wife Nikki Somerhalder while on vacation on a lake together with their dog.

He wrote, "Lake time with part of my little family... Smiling is truly one of the keys to life I'm convinced. Hope you smile today-it's good to do ;)"

One fan commented, "You're pretty, but I am so so so sorry cause you and @ninadobrev break up..."

Meanwhile, Nina Dobrev seems to be going out of her way to show to everybody that she's doing fine after the breakup from Ian Somerhalder, and his wedding to Nikki Reed, as well her departure from "The Vampire Diaries."

The Hollywood Gossip said that since exiting "The Vampire Diaires," Nina Dobrev has been documenting her vacation with her close friends and boyfriend Austin Stowell.

"Aside from wide smiles ... the actress has included such messages on her social media account as 'Dear Dress, Let's Break Up, I'm Over It' and 'Moments count. Calories don't.'" it said.

But Celebrity Dirty Laundry is now claiming that Nina Dobrev and boyfriend Austin Stowell are on a break, which if true means the former "The Vampire Diaries" star just couldn't catch a break when it comes to her lovelife.

"PR stunt or real love, Austin Stowell and Nina Dobrev are taking a break to spend time with friends and family," the article claimed. "It's good to see Nina taking a break from PDA pics to enjoy some downtime and give Austin a break."
