Selena Gomez admitted that she is not dating former One Direction member Zayn Malik.

Rumors have it that the 24-year-old former Disney star and the 22-year-old hit maker are dating when Zayn Malik followed her on Twitter.

Fans immediately reacted to Zayn Malik's move on following the "Behaving Badly" star on social media, and even gushed about how they can be a cute couple.

But Selena Gomez quickly clarified the dating rumors with Zayn Malik in an interview with BC Radio 1 last week.

The "I Want You To Know" singer said, "I had no idea what that was until somebody else asked me, and obviously I know Zayn, though, so it's not like a weird thing."

The singer and actress even added, "I just didn't know who followed me. Thanks for the follow, Zayn!"

When the interviewer asked the "Good For You" singer if she will follow back the former One Direction member, she said, "Did I [follow him back]? I don't know, I don't think I did but I will right now."

The "I Want You To Know" hit maker added, "I should do it."

In 2013, it can be recalled that Zayn Malik fueled possible dating rumors with Selena Gomez when he revealed that he wanted to kiss the singer, Fashion & Style said in a report.

On the other hand, Selena Gomez answered back saying that she would also kiss Zayn Malik.

Aside from rumors on dating Selena Gomez, Zayn Malik is also reportedly "flirting" with Kendall Jenner at the birthday party celebration of Kylie Jenner last week.

All these dating rumors came after Zayn Malik has cancelled his engagement with Perrie Edwards, The Daily Mail said.

Meanwhile, Selena Gomez is enjoying her single status after being in a brief relationship with German DJ and "Stay the Night" hit maker Zedd.
