A Caitlyn Jenner bathing suit costume is being sold for Halloween. Advocates from the LGBT community have spoken up about the controversial item, which is anticipated to be a hit this October.

According to a report from The Denver Channel, an online petition has been released to stop the distribution of the Halloween costume mimicking Caitlyn Jenner in a bathing suit. The look is from the transgender TV star's summer cover feature in Vanity Fair.

The set even has a wig and sash that says "Call Me Caitlyn."

The petition slammed the  costume being sold by pop-up store Spirit Halloween.

"Do not turn Caitlyn Jenner into a costume," the petition read. "Your profit will only lead to greater transphobia and marginalization of an already at-risk community."

According to a report from CNN, Spirit Halloween announced through spokeswoman Lisa Barr that they will still continue selling the Caitlyn Jenner bathing suit costume.

"At Spirit Halloween we create a wide range of costumes that are often based on celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," she explained.

"Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and our Caitlyn-inspired costume reflects just that."

Transgender Law Center executive director Kris Hayashi said that the costume is obviously a way for people to make fun of transgenders.

"It's really clear that the costume is meant to make fun of Caitlyn and transgender people by putting it under the category of humor," the LGBT rep said.

"We're in a moment of ongoing violence and crisis in the community. It's a real affront to the community to think you can make fun of transgender people and go to a party dressed like Caitlyn when we're struggling to survive on a daily basis."

The Caitlyn Jenner bathing suit Halloween costume was released amid reports of the poor ratings of her docuseries. According to a report from Radar Online, "I Am Cait" ratings reached an all-time low when it gathered only 1.02million US viewers for its fifth episode.
