While singers Ed Sheeran and Nicole Scherzinger never confirmed nor denied their rumored relationship, recent news suggested that they have already decided to part ways.

According to the Mirror, the huge age gap between the two, which is more than a decade, is a major factor of the split. 

While the former Pussycat Dolls performer is now 37 years old, the "Thinking Out Loud" singer is 13 years her junior.

However, despite the notable age difference, the site commented that the US-born artist looks a lot younger than her real age.

Apart from this cited reason, an insider also divulged to the Mirror that Ed Sheeran and Nicole Scherzinger "were never serious."

"They were never serious and it's now old news," the source said.

Amid the 'split' reports, the two have remained a good relationship towards each other.

"The age gap was too big for them but they remain on good terms," the source added.

It can be recalled that their supposed romance started when the English musician invited the "Don't Cha" performer to one of his shows at Wembley Stadium.

Meanwhile, "OK!" magazine reported that Ed Sheeran could have already moved on from his break-up with Nicole Scherzinger as he reconnected with a school friend. 

The English singer-songwriter and Cherry Seaborn, who is currently taking up her studies at Duke University, were spotted enjoying the match between Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets. The two even donned identical blue caps to show their support for the New York Mets.

The article disclosed that the two, who first met when they were studying at Suffolk, seemed cosy while watching the game.

In other news, Nicole Scherzinger took to her Instagram account to respond to the split news, noted J-14.

Her Dubsmash of "Thinking Out Loud" was kind of a joke considering the hashtags that she accompanied with it.
