Singer-Producer Ra.D Comes Back With Mini-Album After Four Years

This past week, singer-producer Ra.D released his first mini-album in four years and the first single debuted high on the music charts.

These days Ra.D is most known for his production work as a driving force behind indie label RealCollabo. But the recent release of Small Story has proven that fans would like to hear more from him as a singer. The first single, "Thank You Thank You" debuted at No. 4 on the MelOn chart.

The title track "Thank You Thank You" and video:

The songs on the EP are heartwarming tales of love with a title track that shows appreciation for a lover who, even after many years together, finds that the love continues to grow.

The music video for the track follows the story of a girl who is completely infatuated with Ra.D and documents his every move. When he discovers her unrequited love, he is touched by it and... the rest is history.

Not exactly an ideal scenario, (can we say stalker?), but the song itself is enjoyable and fits in nicely with the bright spring weather.

"Thank You Thank You" and Small Story as a whole show off Ra.D's angelic singing voice and deep emotions as well as the originality of him as an artist, arranger, and producer. He wrote and composed the song with the help and insight of fellow RealCollabo producer, BrotherSu.

A fantastic album that is easy on the ears and makes the listener remember the fondness of love both old and new.

"It's Been So Long" is included in the EP, but was actually released last month as a joint effort with Sin Ji Soo. The lyrics are about seeing an old lover after a long time and hoping she is happy in her life.

"To Friends," a parting song, is an up-tempo soul track with glitzy piano and a groovy rhythm. Especially in the second half, Ra.D proves that he has one of the best and most unique voices in the industry.

"When I Cry You Cry" is a sweet indie-sounding tune with simple guitar and flute that really show's off Ra.D's vocal control and R&B stylings.

"Hidden Road" is a slow, melodic ballad with a gentle piano accompaniment.

"Trip For Me" includes a jaunty acoustic guitar and talks about leaving the stresses and worries of life behind to escape on little "trips" for yourself. A great song to listen to while escaping the hustle and bustle of city life.
