There is no budding romance between Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen.

This was the categorical statement made by the "I Saw The Light" actress, reported Refinery 29.

"No. I mean people can think what they want to think," was the 26-year-old actress' reply when asked if she was dating the "Thor" star, finally putting an end to speculation that the co-stars were an item.

"Well, apparently, I'm dating Chris Evans, and apparently, I've dated Jeremy Renner, so I guess that... I don't react to it," she explained.

"I mean, we definitely are friends and we've known each other for about four years. And we happened to be at a restaurant at a wrong time having dinner. We all go out to dinner." she added.

Queried on what drew her to Audrey, her character in "I Saw The Light," the "Avengers" star said it was the dynamism of her role as a wife which made her want to take on the role.

"The first thing that drew me to the relationship was how passionately they hated each other and how passionately they loved each other. I think the way [writer/director] Marc [Abraham] wrote the dynamic of the marriage and their dysfunctional relationship was very honest," she said.

"It wasn't judgmental. That was something I found very interesting. I really love characters that people assume you're supposed to not like and then defending them," she added.

Meanwhile, the recent disclosure made by Elizabeth Olsen refuted an earlier article published by "Us Weekly" which exclusively revealed that she was in a romance with Tom Hiddleston.

"They've been talking constantly. It's been good for the both of them, they really care for each other. Neither of them are looking to jump into a large commitment, but it's getting more serious," a source told "Us."

According to the entertainment site, Olsen, 26, and the British hunk, 34, were spotted getting cozy as they walked down the street together in Oxford on July 21. Later on, the pair took a taxi to attend Bradley Cooper's West End production of "The Elephant Man."

Elizabeth Olsen and Tom Hiddleston may not be real-life lovers but their on-screen romance is expected to set the silver screen ablaze.
