Korean-American singer-rapper Jay Park held a live USTREAM meeting on Tuesday to talk with hundreds of devoted fans for an hour.

Two weeks ago Jay Park's official homepage announced the event called Jay Park's FM (Fans & Music) LIVE, and requested fan submissions. The organizers asked event participants to send in their stories and questions for the artist who would answer them live in front of fans via USTREAM.

Jay Park also discussed his music career past, present, and future and gave the audience some details about his upcoming projects and even talked about his b-boy crew Art of Motion.

It was an exciting experience for fans around the world who got to sit in an intimate setting with their favorite idol who spoke to them in an honest, candid fashion.

The FM Live event with Jay Park comes after a recent flux in similar fan meetings with other idol groups. Last month Super Junior and 2PM held a very popular Google Hangout fan meetings as part of the Google Asian Pop Star Week getting up close and personal with fans around the world. Psy's upcoming Seoul concert 'Happening' will also be broadcast live around the world via YouTube.

The power of the internet has a lot to credit for the rise in worldwide popularity of Korean idols, without which it would be very difficult for them to break into international markets.

These sort of informal meetings with fans are both a way for the fans to create a personal connection across oceans and for the stars to say thanks for the love and support.

After the FM Live event, Jay Park shouted out to the fans who participated on Twitter saying, "how'd y'all like that USTREAM event? thank y'all so much for everything."
