Christina Aguilera Still Coaching On 'The Voice'? Singer Skips Event Due To Commitment On Show?

"The Voice" season 9 will be back on air on Monday without Christina Aguilera. But rumors continue to buzz that she might still be coaching on the show after she apparently cancelled on an event because of a scheduling conflict.

According to a report on the Africa News Network, the former "The Voice" judge had to pull out of the South African of the Year (SATY) 2015 Awards because of a prior engagement that she had to attend to. As cited in the e-mail sent to the organizers of the event, the singer has to do a recording on the same day as the SATYs.

Aguilera apparently expressed her sadness in missing the event but noted that she still wants to visit the country and perform their soon.

It was not clear what recording Christina Aguilera was doing come October as she is currently on a break from "The Voice" coaching. But according to a report on News24, the prior engagement she had to attend to reportedly involved "The Voice." The report even claimed that the organizers of the SATYs were aware that she was out of the show this season but respected it when her team said she had to reportedly do something for the show.

The former coach of the reality talent search show skipped this season to purportedly focus on her family as told by a source to Us Weekly. While on a break, the singer will be venturing on sharing her expertise on singing through MasterClass starting this month.

In the press release for the online classes, the singer said she can't wait for her classes to begin.

"I'm excited MasterClass has given me the opportunity to truly share all I have learned about my craft with the world," Christina Aguilera said. "Coaching in this capacity not only gives me a chance to connect with my fans but lets me explore one of my true passions."
