Busker Busker Single 'Cherry Blossom Ending' Shoots Back Up To Number One On Billboard K-Pop Chart A Year After Being Released [VIDEO]

Indie K-pop band Busker Busker's "Cherry Blossom Ending" has shot back to number one on the Billboard K-pop charts, a year after being released.

On April 14, 2012 Busker Busker's "Cherry Blossom Ending" debuted at number one on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 chart, knocking 2AM's "I Wonder If You Hurt Like Me?" off of the top slot.

"We made it to the No.1 spot on K-Pop Hot 100 with our rendition of Kim Kwang Jin's 'Tokyo Girl,' which we performed during our competition on 'Superstar K,'" Busker Busker told Billboard when their single went to number one the first time.

"We never thought we would make to the top of the chart with our own song. We are more than overwhelmed and thrilled that people are listening to our music."

After an extended absence, "Cherry Blossom Ending" is back on top.

Busker Busker, which consists of Beom-June Jang on lead vocals and guitar, Hyung-Tae Kim on bass and Brad Moore on drums, received over 3.5 million views for their video for the song.

Back in February, the K-pop indie band that up until that point had operated without a label, signed with Chung Chun Music.

A representative for the record label promises they will not be interfering with Busker Busker's creative process.

"We recently signed Busker Busker and we're now one family," the representative told allkpop.com. "We're going to take in input from the members and also have solo activities. We respect Busker Busker's passion and we're going to support them so they can continue to create wonderful music."

The label promised to stay out of individual band member's solo pursuits as well.

"The members do their music promotions freely, so we are going to only manage them when they want us too."

Back in November, Busker Busker won the Best Band Performance award as well as Best New Male Artist at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMAs) for "Cherry Blossom Ending."

But the band's refusal to perform at the event caused criticism and speculation of a rift between Busker Busker bandmates.

"As it was a place for them to get close to their fans, they should've [accepted the offer to appear]." "Superstar K" judge Lee Seung Chul told CJ E&M.
