Big Bang, CNBLUE Battle On the Oricon DVD Chart

Big Bang and CNBLUE are neck and neck at the top of the Oricon Weekly DVD Chart.

Late last month two of our favorite K-Pop groups, Big Bang and CNBLUE released DVDs of their live Japan shows and the battle for number 1 is heated.

Currently at the top of Japan's Oricon Weekly DVD Chart is the Big Bang Alive Tour 2012 in Japan: Special Final in Dome DVD with Arena Tour 2012 ~ Come On!!! @Saitama Super Arena close behind at number 2.

The CNBLUE DVD was released the same day, March 20, as Big Bang's and quickly rose to the top spot. However, as of April 1, it was taken over by the YG group.

This is the best-selling concert DVD from the guys of Big Bang who surpassed their previous record of 35,000 copies for Big Bang Presents "Love & Hope Tour 2011" by 1,000.

Relatively speaking, around the world DVD sales have been declining, making the tens of thousands of copies sold for both K-Pop groups an even more impressive feat. The live concert footage does however serve as a way for fans to relive their experience at the show over and over again, and includes tantalizing bonus features.

CNBLUE attracted over 100,000 fans to their arena tour in Japan last year, their first ever tour of that magnitude in the country. The DVD is from the final show on October 21 at the Saitama Super Arena where they performed 26 songs including their debut Japanese single "In My Head."

Big Bang's Alive Tour took the idol group to four continents with the DVD being filmed at the Tokyo Dome on December 5. The group's first official, and long-overdue, world tour sold out tickets in record numbers as hundreds of thousands of fans around the world flocked to see them in concert.
