It's never too young to take up a cause and Katie Holmes is making sure that her daughter, Suri, will grow up aware.

On Saturday, Tom Cruise's ex-wife brought along their daughter to the stage of the Global Citizen Festival.

The Global Citizen Festival is an annual event that started in 2012, through the efforts of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, with the primary purpose of raising awareness in connection to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to eliminate extreme poverty by 2030.

"Katie even encouraged her adorable nine-year-old to give a friendly wave at the crowd at the event. The former Dawson's Creek actress shares Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise," Daily Mail said.

"A very shy Suri lifted her arm with a smile as she wore a knit sweater over a patterned pink and white dress and grey leggings," the British tabloid reported.

Previously, it was reported that Katie Holmes is encouraging Suri Cruise as the nine-year-old allegedly wants to follow in the footsteps of her famous parents.

Dish Nation claimed that Katie Holmes enrolled Suri Cruise in acting classes and ballet lessons en route to her dream of becoming an actress

 "Katie loves the idea of Suri taking acting," the source claimed. "Growing up in the spotlight has made Suri a little closed off and shy, and Katie thinks that learning acting will help her become more confident and bring her out of her shell."

Katie Holmes also allegedly plans on sending feelers to Hollywood producers for Suri Cruise to take on smaller roles to hone her acting talents.

Previous rumors claimed that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise had a falling out when she wasn't as responsive to his Scientology beliefs. The leadership reportedly banned the actress from the church and forbidden the "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" actor from seeing her and their daughter Suri.
