B.A.P: American Fans Are Ready For You!

There was a tremendous fan response when it was announced last month that K-hip-hop group B.A.P would be doing a series of US concerts this May in honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

Tour organizers took to Facebook to ask the American BABIES (fans of the group) what cities the tour should visit. Thousands of responses flooded in and it was decided on two west coast shows (LA and San Francisco) and two east coast performances (Washington DC and New York).

When tickets went on sale this past Saturday, all 10,000 seats were sold out in less than an hour. Quite impressive for a group that only made their debut last year.

This popularity and interest comes after other noted K-Pop groups have had successful sold-out shows in the US recently. Big Bang's Alive Tour shows in LA and New York sold out in a matter of minutes prompting the addition of two more dates to the group's American leg of the tour. Last summer 2NE1 also had a phenomenal turnout for their US shows, as did CNBLUE and FTISLAND when they performed in LA in early spring last year. Not to mention the unprecedented fame Psy has found in the States.

Does all of this mean that the United States is finally jumping on the K-Pop bandwagon? Many Korean idol groups are wildly popular in other parts of the globe with millions of fans across Europe, South America, and Asia - the US is like the final frontier, conquer America and you've conquered the world, so to speak.

And B.A.P is on that short list of groups that could do it.

As the hip-hop group prepares themselves for the shows next month, American fans are eagerly waiting to see what is in store for the APAHM Tour and what is sure to be a memorable show.
