Number One Spot Up for Grabs on Music Charts? 'Free-for-All'

With a flurry of new releases, the music chart has become a so-called 'free-for-all' battle. Even as recent as earlier this year, a song or two commonly swept away various music charts and reigned over them for an extended period of time. But not so anymore. Numerous songs from different artists have been taking their shots at the number one spot and the throne is up for grabs.

Based on Melon Charts on April 9, K.Will's "Love Blossom" sits at the top. Released on April 4, it was outdueled by Geek's "How About It" and 15&'s "Somebody" for brief moments but soon returned its way to the top.

On Bugs Music charts, the duet song 'Brunch' between Brown Eyed Girls' Gain and Jo Hyung Woo from "Great Birth" is leading at first place. Their sweet melodies in harmony seem to fit the public's mood at this time of the year.

Mnet has 15&'s "Somebody" at the number one spot. The song's hot start seems en route to JYP Entertainment's initial goal to make it another mega hit like Wonder Girls' "Nobody." Akdong Musician, the brother-sister duo who were sensational on "K-Pop Star 2," ranked at first place on Olleh Music with their new release of "Foreigner's Confession." A veteran, Lim Jae Bum, has also returned to the charts with the new release of "The Rain," his Original soundtrack for SBS drama, "Jang Ok Jung."
