Donald Trump Booed During WWE Hall Of Fame Acceptance Speech At Madison Square Garden

Donald Trump had to cut his acceptance speech short Saturday night during his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame after fans booed him at Madison Square Garden.

Donald is a global icon whose status brought an unmatched level of publicity to the WWE and was this year's celebrity honoree, joining wrestlers Bruno Sammartino, Mick Foley, Bob Backlund, and Trish Stratus, yet he was the only one to be booed.

As a longtime supporter of the WWE, the booing and hissing at him was flat out disrespectful and many bloggers and charitable WWE supporters are blasting the fans.

The moment WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon started Trump's induction, jeers followed. They grew louder as Trump took to the stage, and continued as he introduced his son. The crowd cheered for his daughter Ivanka, but continued the heckling as the Don walked off the stage.

Trump has been a key figure in the WWE since 1988 when Trump Plaza hosted WrestleMania IV. Don even put his famous head of hair on the line against McMahon in a "Battle of the Billionaires" in 2007.

McMahon's speech included lines such as "celebrity inductees are people who support WWE which means they support you, the WWE Universe, helping bridge a gap between pro wrestling and Hollywood which has opened different doors to our favorite talent, allowing them other work-related endeavors," yet the crowd seemed to not be listening to all of Mr. Trumps attributes to the sport.

Donald strangely tweeted, "My induction last night at Madison Square Garden into the WWE Hall of Fame was amazing - I met some great people, including Bruno." Proving that he is too classy to acknowledge the rude behavior of the fans.

This is not the first time Trump has been booed off a stage and it won't be the last, but the WWE and MSG are glad he took the blow like a true champ.
