Kate Upton Receives Tweet From Overnight Star Spike Albrecht Of The Michigan Wolverines Whose 17 Points Almost Led To A National Championship Victory Over The Louisville Cardinals

From bench-warmer to star and Spike Albrecht possibly capitalizing on his stardom with a tweet to model and actress Kate Upton.

"@KateUpton hey saw you at the game last night, thanks for coming out! Hope to see you again," Albrecht tweeted at Upton.

Spike Albrecht averaged less than two points during the 2012-2013 regular-season with the runner-up Michigan Wolverines in the national championship, and overnight became a household name when he tallied off 17 points in the first half of the finals against the Louisville Cardinals.

The freshman's run put Michigan in front by 12 in the first half inside the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

"Great game last night we were so close! Go blue #yellowshoes pic.twitter.com/LoqJn3kdMV," Upton tweeted Tuesday after her team (Michigan) lost to Louisville.

Upton made her claim to main stream when she appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2011. She was named the rookie of the year and appeared in the magazine again the next two years. Upton was a cover model for the yearly magazine.

She has since appeared in the films "The Three Stooges" and "Tower Heist."

She lives in Michigan and was cheering for her team as they almost walked out of Atlanta with the national title.
