Ahn Jae-Wook Recovers Well After 5 hour Long Brain Surgery, Seen Playing Baseball At Celebrity Event

While visiting the United States back in February Korean actor Ahn Jae-Wook had to under go emergency brain surgery.

Ahn Jae-Wook was dining with some friends at a Las Vegas restaurant on Sunday February 3 when he suddenly became ill. The "Triangle" actor threw up and began to complain about a severe headache. Ahn Jae-Wook was taken to the hospital via ambulance and operated on the following day.

In a surgery that lasted 5 hours doctors operated on Ahn Jae-Wook's brain. The American surgeons discovered a subarachnoid hemorrhage. This is when blood pools between the membranes surrounding the brain. A subarachnoid hemorrhage can cause a cerebral aneurysm.

Ahn Jae-Wook had to stay in the US hospital for almost a month while he recovered. Ahn returned to South Korea on March 8.

Reports say, "After he returned to South Korea, a Korean hospital did a checkup and they stated that the surgery results were very good. The hospital stated that he did not have any complications or aftereffects." 

According to reports from various other news outlets Ahn Jae-Wook participated in a celebrity baseball game on April 7. At "The 4th Outstanding Celebrity Invitational Baseball Competition" Ahn Jae-Wook played on the team titled "Just for Fun."

Ahn Jae-Wook and his team ended up losing 11 to 3, but reports from the game said he looked happy and healthy.

Ahn Jae-Wook is a famous Korean actor. His career began in 1994 and he has appeared in television shows, movies and on stage.  There are no reports of any up coming projects for the 41-year-old actor.

His last stage production was in 2012. Ahn Jae played the title role in Rudolf. The show is a musical about the murder suicide of the Crown Prince of Austria in 1889.
