Guns N' Roses Reunion Tour 2015: Amidst reports of a Guns N Roses classic lineup reunion, there are now rumors that the band may release a new album to go with a tour next year.
Consequence Of Sound reported that Australian promoter James Young said that now the Slash and Axl Rose feud is over that Steven Adler, Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan agreed that the band could possibly release a new Guns N Roses album.
"I heard the most amazing rumor this week, from a very well-informed heavy hitter in the Australian music industry," Young told Consequence of Sound. "So what mega band could it be? I heard on Wednesday night that it would be Steven Adler, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan, Slash and Axl Rose - the reformation of the original 1987 Appetite For Destruction Guns N' Roses!"
Gilby Clarke, former guitarist for GnR told The Times Of India he would be part of the reunion now that the Axl Rose/Slash feud seems to be over. Clarke replaced founding guitarist Izzy Stradlin in 1991, during the "Use Your Illusion" sessions.
"Of course, it was a great band. If Slash and Duff [McKagan, bass] came back, it would be special. I would hope I could be a part of it if that ever happened," Clarke told The Times Of India.
"I had a great time during those years. We were young and didn't give a shit what anybody thought. Most people's memories are of the drama and negative shit. I remember being a part of a very powerful musical unit. Everybody cared deeply about the live shows and the music that was recorded. I enjoyed that. I really felt we were on the same page musically and were passionate about our performances."
Earlier this month, Clarke told podcast host Eddie Trunk similar thoughts on a Guns N Roses reunion.
"It's strange. I mean, obviously, we've all heard [the rumors]. I actually did not know the news that Slash and Axl had talked, I didn't know, and I see him all the time. I don't know... I mean, obviously, it would be great for music if it did happen," he told Eddie Trunk.
But Clarke said he hadn't heard anything about a reunion from anyone in the band.
"No, I really don't," he answered when asked if he thought there would be a reunion.
"I think if it happened, obviously, it would be great, but I've got to be realistic. The fans want the original five guys, and I do too. It was a great band, [and] it would be great to see that. If it did happen, I would definitely be available to do it," Clarke said.
