Fans Praise 'Prison School' Live Action TV Series For Closeness To Anime And Manga

Whenever your favorite anime or manga gets adapted, there's always a question of how close the adaptation will stick to the source material.

Sadly, closeness can be either a good or bad thing.

In the case of the "Prison School" live action series, fans are praising the closeness of the casting to the original designs for the characters. Based on comparison photos compiled on Crunchyroll, fans specifically are expressing much happiness with how seamless the live action series fits with the original manga series, and the recent anime adaptation.

"I can't get over the castings, they are so perfect! I'm very happy Funimation got the live action version, I'm going to go watch it very soon," said LoomyTheBrew on CR.

LoomyTheBrew's sentiments were echoed, with various fans stating that they have enjoyed the first two episodes more than most previous live action series.

Funimation, who streaming both the "Prison School" anime series and TV series to fans outside of Japan, describes the story as follows:

"Hachimitsu Academy, a prestigious, historically all-girls school, has finally become co-ed. Average teen, Kiyoshi, is one of five boys to enroll. What he doesn't know is that the school is clandestinely ruled by an Underground Student Council of ruthless, cruel, totally hot female students!"

It goes on:

"And when the boys get caught peeping, they're sent to the school's prison, which is run by the brutally seductive warden, who also happens to be the VP of the Underground Student Council. After the boys are forced endure manual labor, whips, and chains, they'll be left wishing they were locked up with actual criminals!"

The "Prison School" live action TV series premiered on Oct. 25.
