The "death" of Glenn (Steven Yeun's) in the "The Walking Dead" season 6 has lately been a hot topic among fans of the series.
Discussions about Glenn's character have centered on whether he has been permanently killed off from the show - i.e. has become zombie food - or is just waiting in the wings to be once again "resurrected" in an upcoming episode, according to Celeb Dirty Laundry.
Followers of the hit zombie apocalypse series have pointed out that that the 31-year-old star's name was stricken out from the opening credits, making a lot of them believe that his character may truly have become walker fodder.
But amidst the frenzy that Glenn's apparent death has created among viewers of "The Walking Dead" season 6, the show has been quite tightlipped regarding his real fate.
And despite South Korean actor's name taken out from the series credits, he has reportedly been spotted filming at the Hilltop location, which has not yet been shown in the current plotline of the show.
Aside from the multiple sightings of Yeun at the series' location shoots, he has also signed a new contract with show, creating the possibility that Glenn might still be making a comeback.
Some observers have theorized though that AMC has already learned its lesson after teasing the death of Shane (Jon Bernthal), and is therefore exerting extra effort to keep everyone guessing on Glenn's true destiny.
"The Walking Dead" fans will just have to watch the show's next episodes to find out whether Glenn will still be facing off with the walkers, or he will remain permanently buried underneath the guts of the flesh-eaters.
In the meantime, the series' executive producer Scott Gimple has tried to provide viewers a plausible explanation regarding Glenn's death, but may have inadvertently revealed some spoilers in the process, according to Variety.
Gimple, who may have expected critical reactions from fans surrounding Glenn's demise in the show, released a statement which was read by Chris Hardwick on the radio host's program "The Talking Dead."
"And knowing you'd all be talking and feeling and commiserating, I knew we should say something about it, lest our silence say something we didn't mean to say or not say," the producer said in his statement.
"So I'll say this: In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn, or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback or in the current story, to help complete the story," the statement added.
This should give hope to "The Walking Dead" fans that they might be - sooner or later - seeing Glenn chopping off heads and limbs once again in the series' upcoming episodes.
